Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 4, 2026
SportAlert ("we", "us", or "our") operates the SportAlert mobile application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our app.
Information We Collect
- Guest profile data: SportAlert can create an anonymous install identifier, app user ID, generated guest email, and default guest display name so guest users can enable alerts, calendar feeds, and feature requests without creating a login.
- Account data: Sign in with Apple is optional. If you choose it, Apple may provide your name and email address, including a private relay email, so SportAlert can link your account and sync it across devices.
- Push notification tokens: If you enable notifications, we store your device push token to deliver match alerts.
- Follow and alert preferences: We store followed teams or leagues, notification preferences, calendar-feed selections, and notification history so SportAlert can personalize scores, schedules, and alerts.
- Calendar data: If you choose to add matches to your calendar, we request calendar access only at that moment. We do not read or store your existing calendar events.
- Feature request content: If you submit product feedback, we store the request title, description, category, and contact email you provide so we can review and respond.
- Purchase history: If you use SportAlert Pro, Apple and RevenueCat provide subscription and entitlement status associated with your current SportAlert app user ID, whether guest or Apple-linked, so we can unlock Pro and restore purchases.
- Product interactions: If Analytics & Diagnostics is enabled, PostHog and Mixpanel receive coarse screen names and a limited set of app, account-mode, notification, and subscription-funnel events. We do not send names, email addresses, raw route identifiers, purchase receipts, tokens, URLs, or advertising identifiers.
- Crash diagnostics: If Analytics & Diagnostics is enabled, Sentry receives redacted crash and application-error information. We disable default personal data, screenshots, view hierarchy, request contents, performance traces, profiles, session replay, and app-account identity.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the app
- To send push notifications you have opted into (match alerts, breaking news)
- To respond to feature requests and support inquiries
- To link an optional Sign in with Apple account and sync account-related SportAlert data across devices
- To process SportAlert Pro entitlement status, restore purchases, and enforce the Pro request allowance
- To generate and cache match previews, news summaries, and video result links
- To understand aggregate product usage and diagnose crashes or application errors when Analytics & Diagnostics is enabled
Tracking and Advertising
SportAlert does not show third-party ads, does not use the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), and does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
You can turn product analytics and crash diagnostics on or off at any time in More > Privacy > Analytics & Diagnostics. Turning it off opts the device out and resets the local analytics identity.
Device Permissions
SportAlert does not collect precise location, camera, microphone, photo library, contacts, Bluetooth, health, or motion data. Calendar access is requested only when you choose to add a match to your calendar.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may collect data as described in their own privacy policies:
Data Retention
We retain account data only as long as needed to operate your account and the app. Product analytics and crash diagnostics use provider-generated device identities rather than your SportAlert account identity and follow our configured provider retention. Turning off Analytics & Diagnostics or deleting app data resets the local analytics identity. You may request deletion of personal account data at any time in the app or by emailing us.
Children's Privacy
SportAlert does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights
You may request access to or correction of your personal data at any time by contacting us at the email below. You can delete an Apple-linked account from More > Account, or initiate deletion of guest profile data inside the SportAlert app from Settings > Legal & Support > Delete My Data.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
